Truman Lake Fishing Report

Fishing Report - 01-18-2018

By Steve Blake

Well it has been a miserable week as Truman is completely frozen over. That is the bad news. The good news id we have warmer temps and sunshine on the way so by Saturday morning the ramp at Shawnee Bend should be open and most of that area of the lower lake should be open. The fish have had little or no pressure for some time now so when it opens up the bite should be on like donkey kong!!! LOL I will be on the water Saturday morning and will update with what I find then. Looks like 40 to 50 degree temps for the next couple of weeks so the crappie and large mouth bite should be there on the winter patterns. It is going to take some time for the coves off the main lake and the areas up the rivers to thaw as the ice is very thick in those areas. As of now the ice at Shawnee Bend is thin and should thaw this weekend. Looking forward to getting back out there.

See ya on the lake.

Sterett Creek on Truman Lake

Marina - Motel - Campground

We are located approximately 3 miles north of Warsaw, MO on US 65.  Sterett Creek is on the shore of Truman Resevoir (commonly referred to as Truman Lake).  Truman Lake is the largest man-made lake in Missouri and is home to many species of fish and wildlife.  Our Marina offers easy access to the Osage, Grand, Big Tebo and Little Tebo arms of the lake.  Our Motel and Campground offer easy access to the Sterett Creek Loop of the Truman Lake Mountain Bike Park.  Sterett Creek is the perfect place for outdoor fun!
