Truman Lake Fishing Report

Fishing Report 9-29-2017

By Steve Blake

Current water level is 705.20 and water surface temp is 75 degrees.

Still hitting the crappie in brush piles that are in 10 to 15 feet of water with minnows fished at the top of the brush. crappie also still good in trees 8 to 15 feet with minnows. Big and Little Tebo have been best areas for crappie.

White bass on the humps 10 to 17 feet with 1/2 ounce Bob Bates spoons jigged off the bottom. Also seeing some whites on the banks scattered with Pop R's and in line spinners. This bite should get better on the banks with the cooler weather.

Top waters still also best for large mouth, again Pop R's and Whopper Ploppers working well on main lake and secondary points.

Catfish 10 to 20 feet of water with cut shad fished on the bottom on the main lake flats.

Fall patterns are starting to take effect so shouldn't e ling till we see the bank action come on, as well as some schooling fish on top.

That's it for this week see ya at the all new and improved Sterett Creek Marina!!!

Sterett Creek on Truman Lake

Marina - Motel - Campground

We are located approximately 3 miles north of Warsaw, MO on US 65.  Sterett Creek is on the shore of Truman Resevoir (commonly referred to as Truman Lake).  Truman Lake is the largest man-made lake in Missouri and is home to many species of fish and wildlife.  Our Marina offers easy access to the Osage, Grand, Big Tebo and Little Tebo arms of the lake.  Our Motel and Campground offer easy access to the Sterett Creek Loop of the Truman Lake Mountain Bike Park.  Sterett Creek is the perfect place for outdoor fun!
