Another change! The Governor just issued a stay in place order for Missouri effective midnight Sunday April 5th. We have spoken to County officials and they will make their decision as to how that will effect our motel and campground on Monday. Regardless of what other decisions are made, our seasonal slip holders and seasonal campers will be able to continue enjoying their recreational time on property for the duration.

Like everyone else we are trying to operate our business and at the same time ensure the safety of our employees and customers by minimizing close contact. As all of us have experienced, many businesses have had to make decisions on how to operate and best keep their employees safe. Getting out in the fresh air whether it's in front of your camper or out on your boat is good for your health and state of mind! To that end, we plan on staying open as long as the governments, both local and federal, allow it.

This past weekend we discovered first hand when we fully opened the marina and campground how hard it is to get everyone to maintain that six foot separation requirement during "normal" business operations. Wiping things down and trying to maintain things in order takes a lot of time and effort!!

On Monday we made several changes to the way we operate the store and check in procedures for campground and motel.

First, we modified our store hours. Monday thru Thursday the store will be open for business from 7:30 am to 10:30 am so that everyone can get their minnows for the day. We'll be on call for gas until 4 pm. Friday and Saturday we'll be open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. We will adjust hours up or down as demand changes and update online and at the store.

Second, we are restricting customers from going into the marina store. We will instead take orders at the window, pick your items or dip your minnows and place them in front of the door. We will also have a "Ring" doorbell installed at the front door of the motel and the store so that if you need something you can contact the desk via the "ring" doorbell and we can respond.

Paying for purchases needs to be by credit or debit cards as they are easily cleaned after contact. All of our regular seasonal slip and campground customers should already have a credit card on file but need to update them when they come in so that all purchases can be put on account. Accounts will be run weekly and receipts emailed for those customers. Any customers staying on property also need to use their card on file in order to make purchases at the store. Cards will be charged at check in and again at check out and receipts emailed to you. "Walk-in" customers will be asked to use credit/debit cards as much as possible. We are trying to minimize contamination between everyone so we discourage the use of cash. We will waive our minimum purchase charged rule.

Checking in for the motel and campground will be done by phone upon arrival and paid for by credit card over the phone. For our motel operations, we will make every effort to maximize the distance between people by staggering room assignments whenever possible. Keys will be delivered to the rooms by staff. In the campground, as usual, when you arrive you pick your site, but then call us and provide your contact information as well as a credit card for payment so that check-in can be conducted over the phone. Staff will come up and change out the card at your site. Again, any other purchases can be charged to the credit card on file and receipts will be emailed.

We require 6' social distancing! We will enforce this to the best of our ability. We also urge anyone that is symptomatic, at high risk or who is worried about the possibility of exposure to stay home. We are not encouraging you to go against any stay-at-home orders but we are encouraging you, as have the experts, to get fresh air and enjoy life with activities that allow you to maintain responsible social distancing. That is possible here with boating, fishing on the lake and camping.

We plan on keeping our full staff on so we will be able to take care of customers with as much service as we can. We know these are trying times and we are fully committed to ensuring you have a good time while you are sheltering in your "home away from home". We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation and look forward to things returning to "business as usual" some day soon!
