Current water level is 709 and water surface temp is 36 degrees.
Just wanted to give a quick update.
Not much fishing activity this week due to colder temps however some are braving the cold and catching fish.
Crappie on Truman continue to be on the steep bluff banks and in the bluff pockets at depths of 12 to 18 feet in 20 feet of water or more. The real cold temps coming after this weekend will likely freeze many of the upper lake areas. Bucksaw and Windsor Crossing are already iced over. Sterett Creek is icing over as well and by next Tuesday I would guess that all marina coves on the lake will ice in. That being said the last places to freeze up where one might get a boat in would be Shawnee Bend and the old city ramp on the river if they continue to run water.
No reports on bass this week from Truman but the river below the dam is seeing a few large mouth taken on jerk-baits. Catfish and white bass and a few crappie being taken on the river this week from dam down to Turkey Creek. Best depth has been 18 to 20 feet. Looks like fishing may pretty much come to a stop for awhile so come on SPRING!!!!!!
Will update as things open back up.
