Lake level this week is just below 711 and surface water temp is 75 degrees. They are running water almost every day.

Crappie fishing continues to be very good with most of the fish coming suspended in the timber on minnows. We are using 12 foot Crappie Max poles fishing 12 to 20 feet of water 8 to 12 feet down in the trees. Cedars and hedge trees have been best. My best sucess this week has been in the Big Tebo Arm on flats off the main river.

With the falling water the largemouth have backed out of the green stuff and are on the main lake and secondary points, especially those with current across them. Red shad power worms Texas rigged have been best. Position your boat in 15 to 18 feet of water off the point and cast to the point working the worm back SLOWWWWWW and right on the bottom. Pickups are VERYYYYY light so pay attention.

Whites and hybrids are still on the humps but have become inconsistent. We catch them good one day on a humps them maybe it is not so good for a day or two. Most of the whites are on a 1/2 ounce Bob Bates spoon while the crartruse 4 inch sassy shad on a 3/4 ounce head gets the nod for the hybrids. Fish have been in 12 to 20 feet of water on the huimps.

Catfish continue to be good on cut shad fished shallow on trot lines and jugs. Look for fish in the backs of the coves in 4 to 8 feet of water. Seeing alot of blues in the 3 to 8 pound size range.

Thats it for this week. See ya at Sterett Creek Marina!!!!
